20 years ago the track *unfuture*, release on sven väths imprint eye q, marked a milestone in techno productions with its uncompromising style and sound, delivering a view on techno which was revolutionary at that time: stripped down to only a couple of sounds in general, the track had an impact on dancefloors as not often seen before in those trance-dominated times - and still has! alex grabbed the vinyl out of his vinyl-collection after years, did an edit for his own, sent it to pascal feos who produced the original back then and who really liked this edit and the idea in general, and so alex decided to start a remixproject on this pure classic track with young, but also established artists who were not afraid of taking the adventure to remix a track that actually consists of nothing more than a distorted kickdrum, a really monotone off-beat organ sound and an oldschool acidline. here we are with the first part of the repaints of this alltime-classic, coming from uk techno-heavywight and legend mark broom with two interpretation as well as berlins uprising and promising vault-series mastermind subjected. true and high class recycling again on credo to save our planet from bad music

state is the debut from ore, this is techno deftly delivered. four original tracks showcasing an artist ready to make their mark plus remixes from darling farah and jon convex. a debut that stands out - state showcases an artist ready to make their mark. prime-time berghain techno functions are triangulated with detroit in 1987, birmingham in 1997 and london right now. the result is sumptuously textured asymmetric dance music. richly harmonic, expressionist techno that takes in pneumatic hi-tech funk, warehouse-maddening propulsive hydraulic and rarefied low frequency dub chords. complete with laboratory-precise edits, cold, crystalline sampling and skeletal machine effects ore recalls richie hawtins plastikman all the while keeping a rooted afro-rhythmic swing reminiscent of theo parrish with shuffling hi-hats, deep bass and strokes of barely-tamed percussion.

asc returns to samurai red seal in his first release for the label since 2012s out of sync & lost sync series. debuted on mary anne hobbs xfm show, polemic is yet another genre bending, tempo shuffle that brings a powerful acid line to the table. a favourite with the likes of dbridge, om unit, and sam kdc as well as label head presha, this is a tune that truly goes back to go forward. oracle slides back into a more traditional, but not any less unique asc groove, combining a heavy dubbed out bass line with other world ambience and percussive perfection. 909 rhythm track comes as a vinyl only exclusive, in the techno tradition it does what it name says it does, a dj tool for the adventurous maestro. limited blue coloured / white marbled 12 inch vinyl.

after sides from matthew burton, seuil and albert schwartz, sammy dees ultrastretch label returns in 2013 with volkan akin. a regular presence at berlin institutions like club der visionäre, akin has been slowly rolling out his brand of prickly, spaced-out club tracks since the end of the last decade, both under his own name and as v for volkan. but if volkan akin has up until now been unfamiliar beyond germany, his ultrastretch debut, voltage, featuring an absolute beast of a ricardo villalobos remix, stands to turn more than a few heads in his direction. densely packed and intricately constructed, voltage is an extended groove you can get lost in. cymbals ring softly amidst whirrs of faintly melodic clicks, scratches and voices. but at the center of akins churning, percussive arrangement lies a warm and weighty kick sure to keep dancers pinned to the floor. like so many great perlon records, voltage can be taken as a deeply considered exercise in sound design or as a deadly club track simultaneously, with akins musical sophistication and knack for an inviting beat working hand-in-hand. the original mix spends over 11 minutes unraveling, but as you fall further into the swirl of akins interlocking rhythms, youre likely to stop counting. a shorter constant voltage mix evokes sunrise, pulling back the originals heft to reveal gorgeous pads and hints of organic rhythm. ricardo villalobos, sammys longtime label mate at perlon and a producer who likely needs no introduction, digs deeper into the thump at the heart of voltage on his acdc remix. focusing on the originals wisps of melody, villalobos turns in a warm, zoned-in remix that feels of a piece with the singular techno trips found on his recent lp dependent and happy

the long walk starts with the main body of the groove, combining the drums, bass and strings into one morphed soundscape. the strings, as if breathing life in and out of every 4 bar phrase, rocks the listener back and forth, as the acid line is allowed to weave itself, almost freely, in and out of the percussive detailing. this builds a bed for the next progression of the string section to reveal themselves, majestically...

with a background as a promoter, dj, and producer going back to 1995, sammy goossens is a veteran par excellence in todays techno scene. starting off with production work on respected techno imprints like rotation, re-load, tresor, and r&s, he has spent time co-producing for legends like the suburban knight and managing jay haze’s contexterrior and tuning spork labels. alongside friend marcus vector, they started the toys for boys imprint in 2004 and put out a prolific string of releases from top minimal house names like quenum and jona while pushing forward their own careers as producers. now based in berlin and as active as ever, sierra sam honors caduceus records for our fourth release, featuring remixes from jacob korn, oliver deutschmann, and label head lad.

camp supafrico return with the sixth edition of their highly acclaimed sound of funky africa series. digging even deeper into the afro-funk vaults, side a features the ber-rare 1984 shina williams and his african percussionists agboju logun. grooving along for a massive eleven and a half minutes, this super-heavy nigerian disco cut splices raw sounding horns with choirs and chants. seriously epic. flip over for dont do it from bongi makeba, a mesmerising afro-funk workout with her powerful voice weaving in and out of the grooving bass and spaced-out sax. last up is the sought-after mangous ye from black soul. originally the b-side of a 1976 release on tiny but top-quality nyc label beam junction, this tom moulton mixed slice of high-octane percussion-soaked afro-disco hit big on italys cosmic scene as well as the clubs of new york. another surefire hit from the supafrico imprint.

adam beyers unique vision of the afterparty uses phased percussion, tripped out drums and an ethereal like pad and melody to create a stand out remix that blends together two unique ideas momentously. ben klock steps up to take on the afterparty too with the sound ever so synonymous with him. he uses rhythmic stabs and an unusual melody that works so well within the atmospheric landscape he has created.

we have selected 4 great tracks by some of our favourite producers for this special release. jonas kopp, dustin zahn & flug have all been on fire this year and can do no wrong production-wise as far as we are concerned! the final track is an interesting collaboration between friends tony rohr, billy johnston & gennaro mastrantonio!

adesse has recently turned heads with his sought after and limited versions releases. for prime numbers he brings another high quality ep featuring three more excursions. the title track, untitled love, is a dubbed up 90s-esque workout. repetitive vocal samples swirl over a deep, low-slung bass groove & peak’d-up snares. its an unashamedly wide eyed, bouncing production that will please those checking for the current resurgence of raw garage sounds. supernal takes things into deeper territory with an intriguing steppers outing. the track oozes soul with rousing keys & smoked-out production that is all kept in line by a mesmerising, metronomic vocal. the set is closed by metachemistry an equally engrossing track utilising a shuffling groove wrapped in breathy, reedy horns & heavily reverbed percussion. all told a deeply reverential release highlighting a producer with an obviously wide palette of influence & a natural feel for what simply works.

the toronto-based trio of james teej, voytek korab and jared simms have been working under that moniker for a few years now, releasing music on like-minded house labels such as crosstown rebels and visionquest.
this sampler features three brand new and exclusive tracks as taken from the forthcoming crossing wires 001 - compiled and mixed by my favorite robot which is due out june 10th. it features disco talent the revenge, techno veteran timo mass and robot member james teej and offers a snapshot of the sounds this label has dealt in across more than 75 releases to date.

turns out that cold meat lights no fire so attached to this music are ghosts of my life transcribing their emotions into techno. first half of this rocket is more on a negative tip, the second half is more positive, like we all should take it. either way you should listen to both sides cause they complement each other, so try to relax and enjoy the ride, or get off your ass and jam.

the second tape in the series, ferro #01 continues the path through the abyss of dubbed out techno sounds: ever forward with off-kilter resonations from the echo chamber and a pounding heart-beat throughout. like #00, this one is again a tape-only-release. each cassette is a unique piece of art – stamped, numbered and equipped with a link to the digital files. but ther is no way to get these files without grabbing a tape!

only vinyl pure hypnosis! fabrizio lapiana still shows all his passion for the musical journey. as the title of this ep confirms, hearing this release you enter a tunnel of refined sounds and post modern atmospheres. getting out will be very difficult.

xamiga are back - legowelt & xosar team up to deliver 3 tracks of deep aquatic techno and freaked out house jams for m division recordings! following their debut ep on rush hour, this 3 track super limited edition 10 inch on blue vinyl starts with the title track oceania. breakbeats meets ethereal chants and hazy aquatic synths, like a lost afx record from the early 90s. next up, atlantis force code - euphoric house chords submerged by a wet blanket of swirling pads. lastly, one strictly for freaked-out late night dancefloors - xosheeba - jacking beats, a tough bassline and a gnarled phantom vocal stabs.

berlin based martsman steps up for the latest techno release on pushing red. shrank and nycd both weigh in at less than 130 bpm despite bucket loads of shuffle. youd be forgiven for describing these sounds as garagey. shrank has some uplifting progression and plenty of hi-hats and nycd backs it all up nicely with some dub influenced tripped out sounds. another top release from pushing red. their third this year in fact.

a new set by the coolest chap in new york city documenting the before-and-after development of a solo electric guitar piece that alan licht has been playing out for last four years. revered for his work in the blue humans and text of light, and a key figure in his generations pantheon of experimental solo guitar players (such as jim o rourke and oren ambarchi), four years older is his debut editions mego release, representing another peak in a career of mining the rich seams of minimalism, noise and avant-garde in general that stretches back more than two decades.

second out on jean claude gavris coco bin wax imprint sees him deliver two superb retouches of a certain classic record from the eighties.
the original artist has been rather popular over the years, a hero to many, known for floating in tin cans, sporting screwed up eyes and a screwed down haircut, a man who has fallen towards his home planet and questioned life on others.

turquoise blue has come a long way since its launch, welcoming the likes of djebali, manik, laura jones, boris horel and alex arnout onto its roster. here the label welcomes back special case following their remix of scarlett ninas the end on the imprints preceding record.
title track niribu opens the release here, a low-slung, tripped-out house number employing insistent drum programming and dark, atmospheric synthesizers as its driving force. the trio continue down their path of tasteful, intelligently crafted productions, instilling subtle production nuances through filters, delays and reverbs in to the cut while a tight blend of gritty electronic and warm organic sounds creates a heady peak-time cut.

raudive a.k.a. oliver ho heads home with two guilty dancefloor pleasures. gritty surface, smoove bottom. for those damp, dimly lit cellar clubs: low ceilings, fog, smoke and all that.ruins runs a relentless groove against angular guitar overtones, blowing out the valves of its amplifier. metal sheets, rusty strings, sweaty bodies. visitor is built on a naughty percussion sequence and is elevated by a morphed girls inquiring voice straight out of a 1984 shibuya version of blade runner.

dfrnt aka alex cowles, has put out a string of critically acclaimed releases via his own echodub, and londons, on the edge imprint, since his arrival on the scene in 2008, had his track headspace remixed by scuba which featured on the producers sub:stance mix cd for ostgut ton, and maintained a consistently forward-thinking approach to electronic music throughout this. here he joins 2020 vision offshoot fina records, alongside the likes of move d, leif and roberto rodriguez.

through out history, there has a been a growth of intellectual thoughts, thoughts that makes us different from other living creatures. among those thoughts, we see familiar rules of moral and ethics in many historical contexts such as in law and religion, among warriors and even pirates.

mike storm comes from the underground scene of the 072 area in the netherlands. in the late 90s he started as a dj, soon he moved from turntables to his first equipment and started performing live-sets on various local partys. while the underground scene was highly involved electro and techno music, mike learned from it’s established djs & producers and how to work with analog equipment. as of this day, he still produces his tracks still without any computer sequencer. mike storm is most of all inspired by the sound from detroit and minimal dark techno and his biggest passion is performing live on stage. in 2012 mikes coming out of the underground scene and sees his music is being appreciated by the likes of jeff mills and dimi angelis. both djs frequently use his tracks in their sets.

second 12 inch in the testpressing series, hand-stamped sleeve including insert with artwork by alex solman. mastered and cut by matt colton at alchemy, pressed at pallas so here we are at part two in the series: grows without bound on the a-side is a monster, a noisy analogue session resurrected from the burning embers of industrial and noise, harnessed into an unstable growl that slowly makes room for a barely-there percussive stumble - think somewhere between vainio and nate young. over on the flipside primitive equations takes for inspiration the bare-boned, hyper-tense production of photeks still devastating ni-ten-ichi-ryu, slugging out feral, steely noise and ardcore torque forged by calloused hands and burning minds to cruel, propulsive effect.

18 year old alfie is the latest signing to space + time records. his dancefloor-attuned production has already garnered support from key djs around the world & on the likes of radio 1, xfm & rinse, and blogs such as xlr8r and resident advisor. the youngest ever to play fabric at a precocious 16, he is rapidly making a very good name for himself and carving out a reputation as a fine producer and superb dj, having played sets at the likes of the found warehouse party, corsica studios (church), the nest in dalston, audio in brighton and nye at digital alongside julio bashmore, with plenty more in the diary. joining the package is citizen, leading light of kerri chandlers madtech records, who brings his big room dynamics to lead track hy-brasil.

few people stand for a real underground approach to techno like adam x does. for over 20 years he has been right in the center of the scene. before moving to berlin he ran the sonic groove record shop in nyc for 15 years. the sonic groove label also owned by adam is still a dominating force in the scene and has released music of legends like abe duque, blake baxter, frankie bones, kevin saunderson and many more. with djing, producing music adam in recent years has received a lot of support from people like chris liebing and many others for his productions as adam x as well as for his aliases traversable wormhole, admx-71.adam’s sound is dark and heavily influenced by his passion for industrial and old school ebm music. with coercive persuasion on the a-side he combines these influences with a functionality that can only derive from his extensive touring as a dj and live act. it is a dark anthem that will destroy all real techno floors. no doubt. the b-side deprogramming sequence comes along with driving bells that give the stomping beat of the track a little uplift and therewith balances out the heavy dark side of the ep.

aksutique is the moniker of matthias springer for his deep ambient techno, dub techno and downbeat productions. matthias has released several productions over the years, ranging from techno to chill out music under different names. the notch fields ep is the first vinyl release for aksutique and features 3 tracks of aquatic dub influenced deepness that sucks you right into its maelstrom of endless echoes, synth swirls, noises and reverberated chords. “echolot” for example is a pure intense submarine cinematographic infinite journey that takes you into the depths and never lets you free again. the record features an additional dark and electronic rework by valanx aka arne weinberg that drenches the original in eerie voices, electronic sounds and deep bass. not for the faint hearted.

betsy just stood there with her mouth wide open. those two guys where fencing each other up and down the stairway. they took 20 steps, back to back, then they turned around, smoothly from the hip, firing magazines at each other. then 10 steps and then 5, both where still standing. they beat each other to a pulp until the blood came out and then until no blood came out and still none of them hit the ground. betsy did not dare to move, even when the duelists finally went away in opposite directions she still stood there like a curtain rod. she cautiously moved her eyes to the left, cautiously meved her eyes to the right, everything seemed to be safe. then there was this flicker of light in betsys sunglasses. they came back.
